Senior Indian policeman recommends 'honour killing'

This is important - I was unable to extract material from the article but you can read it here:
http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/honour-killing-kill-daughter-if-she-elopes-saharanpur-dig/1/187897.html

"If your daughter had eloped then you should be ashamed of it and end your life. I would have killed my sister if she had eloped": advice given by the Deputy Inspector General of Saharanpur, to a father seeking police help for tracing his daughter who was allegedly abducted over a month ago..

(Article 21 of the Indian Constitution states, “No person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to the procedure established by law.” Evidently the DIG is ignorant of the Indian Constitution or doesn't give a damn for the law. With policemen such as these, who needs terrorists to 'destabilise' India?)
